FLY – TAXI – BOAT 

Fly Sansa from San Jose Costa Rica to Palmar Sur on a 15-passenger plane, 45 min flight. Check Sansa’s baggage and weight restrictions before booking.  Take a taxi from the airport in Palmar Sur to Sierpe, about 20 minutes away. Then take the water taxi up the Sierpe River, through mangrove forests through the mouth of the Sierpe River.  In about an hour the journey ends in Drake Bay at the village of Aguajitas or at the resort you booked. This is a great way to arrive! 

DRIVE 

Drive south on the Pan American Highway, past Palmar Sur, turn right at Chacarita to Rincon, turn right and follow the signs to Drake Bay. Takes 2-3 hours from Palmar Sur. Four-wheel drive is recommended in the rainy season.
